Stakes Success For Love Child At Chantilly

The André Fabre-trained Love Child finally secured her first Stakes success with a game performance in yesterday’s Listed Prix La Moskowa at Chantilly. Leading home her stablemate, Joie De Soir, the four-year-old daughter of Dark Angel outbattled her eight rivals to take the Listed contest under jockey Olivier Peslier.

Never far off the pace in a steadily run contest, Love Child came through to lead at the top of the straight and stayed on strongly to score by just under a length, with Control Tower a further half a length back in third.

Carrying the colours of Lady Bamford, Love Child was purchased from the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 by Charlie Gordon-Watson for €700,000. Bred in partnership by James Hanly, Tevor Stewart and Anthony Stroud, she is a half-sister to the ill-fated filly Brundtland, who was a dual Gr.2 winner. The dam Future Generation was a Gr.3 winner and is a sister to three black-type winners in Dancing Breeze, Approachability and Rasmayaa, who are all by New Approach.
