Dark Angel Fillies’ Shine at Goffs November Foal Sale 2019

 

The Dark Angel half-sister to Classic winner Just The Judge was the star filly of the day on Wednesday at Goffs November Foal Sale, drawing several big owner-breeders into a bidding battle. But eventually ended up in the ownership of Sheikh Hamdan, a  confirmed fan of her sire, with Derrinstown Stud’s Stephen Collins lasting longest in the pursuit securing the winning bid of €575,000. “We’re delighted to get her,” he said. “Sheikh Hamdan was very keen on her pedigree. She’s a very well-bred filly and he has had a lot of luck with Dark Angel. She has plenty of residual value as a broodmare.”

In an excellent couple of minuites for Dark Angel, Ross Moorhead’s Glacken View offered a very smart filly by the sire who was secured for a winning bid of €260,000 from BBA Ireland. She is a daughter of Listed Pretty Polly Stakes Heroine Fashionable.

Overall seven lots by Dark Angel changes hands during Goffs November Foal Sale (Part 1) with four lots fetching six figures selliing for an average of €222,143.
