Exalted Angel Takes Listed Betway Kachy Stakes at Lingfield
Dark Angel and Camacho combined in the form of Exalted Angel to rack up a fourth success and career best performance when denying Fizzy Feet to land the Listed Betway Kachy Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday, booking his ticket in the All-Weather Championship Sprint on finals day.
Drawn wide, The Karl Burke trained and Clifford Lee ridden Exalted Angel broke well and went forward, being joined by Fizzy Feet, before settling it right down again. The leading pair kicked on the bend and battled it out for the duration of the straight, with Exalted Angel coming out on top to land the listed contest. Misty Grey also by Dark Angel closed well from the pack to take third.
Winning jockey Lee said: “We always knew he had ability – he was up in trip today, and he’s obviously loved that.
“I thought he (Rossa Ryan on David Loughnane’s Fizzy Feet) had just nicked half a length or a length on us coming round the bend – but my lad has got that turn of foot, and he got stuck in today.”
Bred by Tirnaskea Stud, he was bought by SackvilleDonald for €150,000 from the Arqana August Yearling Sale and is out of the Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes winner Hurryupharriet (Camacho).
