The Breeders Cup, Keeneland and Krasnodar
Yeomanstown Stallions shared the limelight of two Breeders Cup’s over the weekend.
BIRCHWOOD by Dark Angel ran a superb race to finish a close third in the mile US$1-million G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Keeneland, USA on Friday. The Godolphin owned two year old was a first runner at the Breeders Cup for trainer Richard Fahey and for breeder Guy O’Callaghan.
Another Yeomanstown stallion, Camacho also had a Breeders Cup runner and this time a winner when Kamancho secured his place as Russia’s top sprinter after winning the Group 1 Grand Criterium Sprint over 1,000 metres at the Autumn Russian Breeders Cup meeting in Krasnodar. He is owned by Zaur Sekrekov and was purchased at the 2013 Goresbridge Breeze Up Sales by Watkins Bloodstock. He is now a 4 time winner and 5 times placed from just 10 starts with previous group winning form. The owner can now have the choice of racing him on or retiring him to his Sekrekov Stud.
