Gotta Love A Grey Shines In Listed EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes At Dante Festival

Got To Love A Grey remained unbeaten after victory in yesterday’s Listed EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes over 5f at York, where she led home stablemate Dorothy Lawrence in a 1-2 for trainer Karl Burke. The two-year-old daughter of Dark Angel displayed a professional attitude and made all, seeing off the challenge of Dorothy Lawrence, who occupied second position throughout the race and also reversed her Newmarket debut form with Persian Dreamer, who was back in fourth. Richard Hannon’s Gaiden filled the placings in third, half a length behind the second, who was the same distance behind the winner.

Got To Love A Grey was an impressive six-length winner on debut over 5f at Nottingham last month, defeating Alfa Whiteburd, who had finished fourth in the EBF Brocklesby Stakes. Bred by Regatta Partnership, she was a 52,000gns purchase by Aguiar Bloodstock at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale and is now owned by Middleham Park Racing CXXI. She is out of the dual French Listed victrix Regatta and descends from the family of the Gr.1 Yorkshire Oaks heroine Punctilious.
