Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes Victory for Sky Majesty at Naas

A British-trained runner won yesterday evening’s Listed Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes over 6f at Naas for the second year in a row, with Tom Marquand steering William Haggas’s Sky Majesty to victory. The strong-travelling three-year-old daughter of Blue Point, who had to burden more weight than all bar one of her nine opponents, raced prominently and began to challenge for the lead at the two-furlong marker. She broke clear with Carla Ridge inside the final furlong and saw off that rival to prevail by three quarters of a length, with the five-year-old Bellaphina making late gains into third, a further half length adrift.

An unbeaten juvenile, the filly made a winning debut over 6f at Newbury before notching up Stakes victories in the Gr.3 Firth of
Clyde Stakes at Ayr in September and the Gr.2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte at Chantilly the following month. She was placed
third in a Chelmsford conditions race on seasonal reappearance and subsequently ran eighth in the Gr.1 Commonwealth Cup at
Royal Ascot.
