First Two-Year-Old Winner for Freshman Sire Supremacy

 

Yeomanstown Stud’s Middle Park Stakes winner Supremacy recorded his first winner with just his second runner when Anthelia stayed on strongly to make a winning debut at Bath on Friday afternoon.

Trained by Rod Millman, who purchased the daughter of Supremacy from Breeders Yeomanstown Stud at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, she came with a sustained late run under Lewis Edmunds to mow down Canyouhearthedrums and ultimately win by a comfortable 2 1/2 lengths.

Anthelia is a half-sister to multiple winner Punchbowl Flyer and is the fifth runner and third winner out of Listed Rose Bowl Stakes third All On Red. A daughter of Red Clubs.

Supremacy is one of four Group 1 winners from the first crop of Mehmas and was bred by Kangyu Racing International out of the Arcano mare Triggers Broom who is an Arcano half-sister to dual Group 1 Champions’ Mile winner Xtension and to Beatrix Potter, dam of the champion sprinter and Darley sire Harry Angel and the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Pierre Lapin.

Triggers Broom is also a half-sister to the dam of Group 3 Prix Saint-Georges winner and Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye runner-up White Lavender.

Trained by Clive Cox for Owner Jason Goddard, Supremacy won three of his four starts as a juvenile, getting off the mark at Windsor on his second run before immediately being stepped up to Group 2 level for Goodwood’s Richmond Stakes, in which he was successful, and he ended the season by defeating Lucky Vega in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket and rounded off his juvenile campaign as Champion 2 year-old in GB.

Supremacy has 130 juveniles registered with Weatherbys and stands this season for €8,000.
