First Winner For Shaman as Golden Furius Strikes On Debut
Golden Furius delivers a first winner for Shaman with just his third runner. Golden Furius making his debut, broke on top, but was soon relegated to third. Sneaking up the rail with 400 metres left to travel, he kicked away from his rivals by the 300-metre mark. He won with his ears pricked by 1 3/4 lengths over Capdepera. Golden Furius is the first winner for his multiple group-winning sire Shaman who stands for €5,000 this year at Yeomanstown Stud. Shaman was also second in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains and two other Group 1 races.
The fourth foal and second winner for his dam, Golden Furius is from the extended family of G2 Richmond Sakes winner and G1 Gran Criterium third Mister Cosmi, and the stakes winner Auditorium, who was second in the G2 Champagne Stakes and third in the G1 Middle Park Stakes. He was bred by Colin Kennedy.
