Art Power Extends Unbeaten Irish Record

Tim Easterby’s Art Power earned a fourth Irish victory in as many starts after a dominant performance in yesterday’s Gr.2 Greenlands Stakes over 6f at the Curragh. The six-year-old grey son of Dark Angel began quickly to grab the lead and made all. He asserted from the field over a furlong from home and was in splendid isolation approaching the line, prevailing by a comfortable four and three-quarter lengths. Big Gossey chased him home in second, while Ano Syra was just half a length behind in third. This was a third victory at the Curragh for the gelding, who was a three-length winner of the Gr.3 Renaissance Stakes over course and distance on his last foray to Ireland. He had also won that race by five lengths back in 2021.

Bred by Owenstown Bloodstock Ltd, he was a €110,000 purchase by SackvilleDonald at the Goffs Orby Sale and is now owned by King Power Racing. He is a half-brother to the Gr.3 Ballyogan Stakes victrix Penny Pepper and the Listed victrix and Gr.3-placed Morning Frost, out of the dual Listed winner and Gr.3 runner-up Evening Time.
